Barra Brava FC is proud to announce that the 2nd Annual Supporters' Charity Shield matches will be played at the Auxiliary Field of RFK Stadium (Lot 7) on Saturday, August 21st. The doubleheader friendly will feature the women's team of Barra Brava FC hosting the women of Screaming Eagles FC 12 noon followed by the men of Barra Brava FC Premier and Screaming Eagles FC taking the field at 2:00 p.m. This event is an all-for-charity fundraiser where 100% of proceeds from ticket sales will be split between "United for DC" and the "Wounded Warrior Project."

In last year's inaugural event, BBFC and SEFC took to the field in support of the WWP and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. With the success of the 2009 Supporters' Charity Shield, we are excited to partner with DC United, the Screaming Eagles, and the Wounded Warrior Project for an even bigger and better event in 2010 and would like to invite you and all of your friends to join us. So please come on out and support Barra Brava FC and Screaming Eagles FC as we play for a couple charitable causes.

Tickets can be purchased at the gate or online at the Barra-Brava.com Store for $10

    MAKE DONATIONS HERE

Of course, if you would like to donate more than $10, multiple tickets can be purchased and donations can be made through the online store even if you cannot attend the event. After your donation, you will receive a confirmation receipt which should be used for admission to the game and access to hot food off the grill provided by the Barra family. Sorry, no alcohol.

Please help us promote these great causes by forwarding this information to friends, family, and anyone else that would be interested in helping United for DC and the Wounded Warrior Project.

We would like to thank everyone for all of your generous support. A special thank you goes out to DC United and the Screaming Eagles for making this possible. Conceived over a beer in Lot 8, the Supporters' Charity Shield promises to become yet another Barra tradition demonstrating the heart and character of our great group.  This is a unique event put on by the supporters of DC United and will be a fun kick-off to the weekend long party leading up to the DC United vs. Philadelphia Union game on Sunday, the 22nd.

    Vamos United!

    2009 Supporters' Charity Shield

La Barra Brava’s primary purpose is to support D.C. United with unwavering loyalty.  However, we also share D.C. United’s commitment to serving the Greater Washington, D.C. community and wish to increase our efforts not only as a supporters’ group, but also as an organization that values local philanthropy.   In the summer fo 2009, Barra Brava FC in cooperation with Nadine Namoff and Screaming Eagles FC hosted the inaugural “Supporter’s Charity Shield Match” which featured both the men's and women's teams of Barra Brava FC and Screaming Eagles FC.  It was a great opportunity for the members of Barra Brava and Screaming Eagles to showcase their talent on the field as well as a chance to raise money for a few extremely worthwhile charitable causes.   In the 2009 event, BBFC and SEFC were playing for the Wounded Warriors Projectand the Luekemia and Lymphoma Society and were successful in raising a significant amount of money for the two charities.  Click Here for an entertaining preview of the 2009 Charity Shield.

With the success of the inaugural event, Barra Brava FC is making plans for a even bigger and better Charity Shield in 2010.  We are currently in the planning process and are looking for volunteers to help out.  If you are interested in being a part of this unique event, please contact Will at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Although newly established, Barra Brava FC makes it our goal to be “mas que un club.”  While striving to put the strongest and most competitive team of amateur players on the field will always be our goal, we also make it a priority to be a part of the community in a way that will benefit the team, La Barra Brava, D.C. United, and the city of Washington, D.C.

Thank you to everyone that helped make the inaugural Charity Shield a successful event and here's to greater success in 2010!
